Currently, the Miami Heat find themselves on a quest to get back to the NBA Finals. As the number one seed in the Eastern Conference, they are looking to prove their run in the bubble was not a fluke.
Depending on how things unfold for them in the postseason, the Heat could be a team looking to make a big splash in the offseason. With Jimmy Butler and Kyle Lowry getting up there in age, their window to compete for a championship is now.
A recent article at Fadeaway World listed five potential blockbuster deals for the LA Lakers this summer. After failing to make the playoffs this year, they will certainly be looking to make a major change. One of these hypotheticals involved LA sending an All-Star down to the South Beach.
In exchange for star forward Anthony Davis, LA would receive Bam Adebayo, Tyler Herro, and Gabe Vincent. After emptying their asset pool to acquire Davis from New Orleans, the Lakers would be recouping a haul of depth pieces.

At this point, a deal of this framework seems highly unlikely. The Heat are known for making big moves, but this seems far too risky for a calculated organization like them. While Davis can still be a top talent in the league, he has struggled mightily to stay on the court over the past two years. It would be foolish for Miami to give up so much for a guy that they don’t know can be a nightly fixture in their lineup.

After the leap he’s taken this year, an argument could be made that Adebayo isn’t far off from the caliber of Davis. He continues to grow his offensive game while regularly being in the conversation for Defensive Player of the Year. Not to mention he’s four years younger than Anthony Davis.
A deal of this sort makes total sense for the Lakers but doesn’t exactly move the needle for Miami. That being said, it seems doubtful the Heat would surrender two core pieces for anything less than a sure thing.
