Portland Trail Blazers
It was the year that was expected from the Portland Trail Blazers. Damian Lillard played in just 29 games while the front office sent CJ McCollum to the New Orleans Pelicans.
This led to the Blazers finishing near the bottom of the Western Conference and in the lottery of the draft. There is a chance that Portland could finish in the top five, meaning they will have their choice of many players. They have been linked to the likes of AJ Griffin but could opt for a backcourt mate for Lillard.
This, of course, is if Lillard is still in town. There have been talks of Lillard requesting a trade for quite some time now but it is unknown if this will be the case. He has said all of the right things to the media but that does not mean that there are not disgruntled feelings, especially after the Blazers traded McCollum.
The direction of the Blazers is unknown but Johnny Davis could be part of the rebuilding process. There are few better players for a young guard to learn from than Lillard. Selecting Johnny Davis would give the Blazers a new duo to build around for the future.
