New York Knicks, NBA Trade Rumors
NBA Analysis Network

The New York Knicks are a team primed to make a move this NBA offseason. They need to get back on the correct timeline and figure out the direction of the team. They aren’t as bad as they were during the 2021-22 season, but they likely aren’t as good as the fourth-place finish during the 2020-21 season either.

New York is somewhere in between. This is likely an NBA Play-In Tournament team but there is the potential to grow into so much more. The young core that has been put together in New York, led by RJ Barrett, has immense potential, they just have to be given the chance to showcase it regularly.

Injuries pushed players like Obi Toppin and Immanuel Quickley into bigger roles and they thrived. Cam Reddish, Quentin Grimes, and Jericho Sims all showed they can be rotation players with untapped potential.

Ensuring those players have the opportunity to earn rotation minutes can be done via some moves in the offseason. Consolidating some of the veterans on the roster would make a lot of sense.
