The Dallas Mavericks are in a hard-fought series with the No. 1 seeded Phoenix Suns right now in the 2022 NBA Postseason. But, some people within the organization are already making offseason plans for the team.

Dallas has a few needs that they will have to address, with the center position chief among them. However, others could arise depending on free agency shakes out for some of their players.

The player that most people will have their eyes on is Jalen Brunson. Brunson is heading toward unrestricted free agency and is going to cash in. Many expect him to sign a deal that is worth at least $20 million annually.

Dallas would love to retain him, but there is no guarantee that they will. Because the final season of his rookie contract was non-guaranteed, not an option, he is not a restricted free agent. Had he been restricted, the Mavericks would have had the chance to match any offer sheet that he signed.
