LA Clippers
Another contender that should have their eyes on Derrick Rose is the LA Clippers. The Clippers will be back among the elite during the 2022-23 season with Kawhi Leonard returning to the lineup alongside Paul George.
LA made a shrewd move at the deadline, picking up Norman Powell and Robert Covington as well. Powell provides them another dynamic two-way wing, while Covington is a versatile frontcourt player that is the quintessential 3-and-D player. Covington is a free agent, but the Clippers should aggressively pursue bringing him back.
Arguably the biggest need for the LA Clippers this offseason is a point guard. Reggie Jackson did a solid job, but there wasn’t much else on the roster other than him at the position. Bringing in Rose would bolster the team’s second unit, providing another playmaker that can also carry the offense for spurts of time.
Despite the injury concerns, Rose has shown that he can still get the job done when he is on the court. He can provide a team with a productive leader for the second unit and wouldn’t require a long-term commitment.
