The Atlanta Hawks suffered a fairly disappointing 2021-22 NBA season. After finishing the year prior with a 41-31 record and advancing to the Eastern Conference finals, they regressed. They finished the season 43-39 and got eliminated in the first round of the playoffs.
It’s not all gloom and doom on Peachtree Street. The Hawks still have Trae Young. The 23-year-old floor general is one of the most explosive offensive players in the NBA. Next season, the Hawks may benefit from landing him a co-star.
It may or may not happen. As it stands, the next most valuable trade chip on this roster is probably John Collins. His name has been a staple in trade rumors for seasons now. Could the Hawks package him in a deal to acquire a second star?
If they went that route, they could probably swing something significant.

At 24, Collins holds a lot of intrigue as an athletic stretch four. Coupled with draft picks or another of the Hawks’ intriguing young players, he could fetch them a significant player.
