2 Dark-Horse Trade Destinations For Wizards’ Bradley Beal

Bradley Beal, Washington Wizards, NBA Trade Rumors
NBA Analysis Network

The next few weeks are going to be very stressful for the Washington Wizards. The future of the franchise could very well be determined this NBA offseason by what Bradley Beal decides to do with his next contract.

Beal has a player option for the 2022-23 season that is likely going to decline with his eyes toward signing a new max contract.

Washington is hopeful that he will re-up with them and it seems to be what Beal is leaning toward doing. However, things could very well change between now and when free agency begins.

If Beal declines the option and becomes an unrestricted free agent, other teams will be allowed to talk to him. They could change his mind about remaining in Washington and present him with a better opportunity to win elsewhere.

The Wizards have improved talent-wise in recent seasons, but there are still some holes on the roster. They desperately need a point guard. Consolidating some of the logjams on the roster could be the avenue they go down to address that need, but they have to find a team willing to make a trade.

That is certainly easier said than done as the trade market will be competitive this summer. With so few teams projected to have cap space, teams will be offering similar contracts to players in free agency and be pursuing the same trade targets.
