Best Landing Spot: Portland Trail Blazers
The Portland Trail Blazers only have a 37.2 percent chance of having their pick jump into the top four, so if they wind up with the opportunity to select Chet Holmgren, it could be a confirmation of divine basketball intervention.
Chet’s strengths and weaknesses perfectly align with the Trail Blazers, in that his new teammates could account for most of his holes while he covers for theirs. With Damian Lillard and Anfernee Simons on the roster, Holmgren will have two guards capable of creating for themselves, finding him for easy opportunities, and preventing him from having to shoulder a heavy offensive load early on in his career.
His underrated passing ability would be put to use, and he could take time developing his own shot creation, as he wouldn’t be tasked with that responsibility so long as Dame Time is still running in Rip City.
He’d be able to start right away, as the Trail Blazers are severely lacking forwards. He’ll likely play a help defender role like Robert Covington did in his time in the Rose City and would be a big buoy for the Blazers on that end of the court.

With Jusuf Nurkic almost guaranteed to re-sign in Portland and hold down his spot as the starting center, Holmgren can avoid banging down low with Joel Embiid, Nikola Jokic, and Anthony Davis. This would be a perfect spot for him to compete for a playoff contender right away but still have the time and situation necessary to properly develop.
