The LA Clippers were like a recent high school graduate who hadn’t found themselves yet during the 2021-22 NBA season. They took a gap year.

Kawhi Leonard spent the whole season on the shelf. Paul George followed suit shortly after. The Clippers fought admirably, but it was pretty clear that they wouldn’t be in contention for the NBA title last season.

Wisely, they spent 2021-22 getting better for next year instead.

They project as terrifying. They added Norman Powell and Robert Covington (who is primed for free agency but expected to resign). With Leonard and George returning, and a solid supporting cast, they should be in the running for the 2022-23 NBA championship.
