Thaddeus Young
It’s been a strange couple of years for Thaddeus Young.
In 2020-21, he had one of the best years of his career with the Bulls. His averages of 12.1 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 4.3 assists pointed to a swiss army knife of a forward/big who’d finally added playmaking to his long list of NBA skills.
The following season saw Young mostly riding the pine for the San Antonio Spurs. Following a deadline deal to the Raptors, Young’s productivity continued to wain, but he did etch out a meaningful role in his second home.
Odds are, he’ll do the same in his next one. The Raptors acquired Young to play the 5, but he can still spell valuable minutes at either big man spot. He’s a sturdy defender, serviceable floor-spacer, and surprisingly strong passer.
