Tyus Jones
Tyus Jones may not wow NBA audiences with flashy dribble moves, electrifying dunks, or flashy passes. He is, on the other hand, the definition of solid.
Jones’ 6.8 assist-to-turnover ratio paced the entire National Basketball Association in 2021-22. His utter refusal to make mistakes positions him as an ideal backup point guard for a contender. Depending on that team’s roster construction, he could also make for a fantastic fifth starter.
He’s a safe bet to stay out of a star teammate’s way. Outside of his low number of miscues, Jones shot 39.0% from distance last season. All he’s going to do for your team is space the floor, and make the occasional play without mucking it up.
Jones is a solid defender as well. He’s only 6’0, but his effort and fundamentals allowed him to post a 0.5 Defensive Box/Plus Minus in 2021-22. He’s not a defensive anchor, but he’s reliable on that end of the floor.

In fact, he’s one of the most reliable players in the league on both ends. Jones may not raise your team’s ceiling. He does raise its floor. For a contending squad, that’s invaluable.
