All told, the Cleveland Cavaliers enjoyed a solid 2021-22 NBA season. They may have been swiftly eliminated in the play-in tournament, but getting there at all is an accomplishment for such a young team.
If not for injuries, they may not have needed to even participate in the tournament. The Cavs hovered around the top of the Eastern Conference standings for much of the season. When the injury bug hit them, it hit them hard.
First, they lost Collin Sexton for the season. Ricky Rubio later followed suit. They weathered both of those storms admirably, but when Jarrett Allen was forced to miss a chunk of the season, they took a tumble in the standings.
They’ll be back to fight another day next season. So will the LA Clippers. If Cavs fans have complaints about injuries, Clippers fans likely don’t want to hear them.
