Stephen Curry has made history time and time again with his shooting for the Golden State Warriors. This season, though, Curry has made some NBA history alongside teammate Jordan Poole.

Jordan Poole and Stephen Curry became the first teammates to finish 1st and 2nd in the NBA in free throw percentage since 1987. Poole shot 92.5% from the line, and Curry finished shooting 92.3%. Only six NBA players cleared the 90% threshold, with Poole and Curry leading the way.

This statistical landmark is a reflection of Poole’s success with the Golden State Warriors this season. A candidate for Most Improved Player, Poole hit career highs in points, assists, rebounds, steals, and blocks.

Poole’s emergence comes at a good time for Golden State, who enters the playoffs with a fully healthy rotation with the exception of James Wiseman. Curry missed the final 12 games of the season but returned for Game 1.

Free throw shooting has long been an elite skill for Stephen Curry, who has the highest career free throw percentage in NBA history at 90.8%. Poole only shot 79.8% from the line his rookie season, so he has improved drastically.

Teammate Klay Thompson did not play enough games to qualify for the shooting leaderboards, but he would also be high on the list. Thompson shot 90.2% from the line this season, which would’ve been good for seventh in the NBA. Should Thompson play enough next season, the three could possibly take the top three spots in the league.
