The Charlotte Hornets suffered another lopsided loss in the NBA Play-In Tournament portion of the postseason. Now, the offseason could see some changes and some cap space cleared.
The way to do that is to move one big contract on the books. Gordon Hayward seems like the likely candidate. He has two years and $62 million left on his deal. If Charlotte wants to give Hayward another chance to stay healthy, the Hornets could look at Terry Rozier.
Rozier signed a four-year, $96 million contract extension with the Hornets in August. This is the final year of his original deal which means this extension begins next season.
Over the next four years, Rozier’s earnings will continue to increase to $26 million. It is worth it for the player they are getting, but the Hornets could have other deals in mind to make.

If Rozier is moved, teams will get a solid offensive player, but they will also clear room for extensions of LaMelo Ball and Miles Bridges.
