There are going to be some very intriguing first-round matchups in the 2022 NBA Playoffs. Arguably the most exciting one will come in the Western Conference with the Minnesota Timberwolves taking on the Memphis Grizzlies.

Memphis earned the second seed in the conference, finishing with the second-best record in the NBA behind the Phoenix Suns. They went 56-26, tying a franchise record for wins in a single season. They made the Western Conference Finals that year and will be looking to do at least the same this time around.

The Timberwolves finished seventh, putting them into the NBA Play-In Tournament. They hosted the LA Clippers in the first game and won, 109-104. This is only the second time they are in the postseason since 2004, which was the last of their eight consecutive seasons of making the postseason.

The Grizzlies and Timberwolves are two of the more exciting, young teams currently in the NBA. While the rosters aren’t full of household names, there is a lot of star power in this series that will soon become known to even the most casual fans.
