It’s hard to imagine a more tumultuous season than the one the Los Angeles Lakers just completed. In all likelihood, it qualifies as one of the most disappointing campaigns in NBA history.
As the Lakers enter this offseason, it’s safe to assume they’ll look to retool. Unfortunately for them, they’re light on moveable contracts, draft capital, and interesting young players. Their best hope may be that an NBA front office still views Talen Horton-Tucker in the latter light.
Individually, his season was about as disappointing as the team itself’s. The third-year wing averaged 10.0 points per game while shooting 41.6% from the field and 26.9% from downtown. It’s easy to pin his shooting efficiency on the team’s shortcomings.
Cramped spacing, an unclear pecking order, and the generally disastrous nature of the Lakers’ year may have contributed to THT’s struggles.
