No matter how hard the NBA tries, they just cannot seem to get rid of teams “tanking” at the end of the year.

Due to the fact that all 30 teams do not and cannot make the playoffs, many of the league’s bottom-tier teams essentially “give up” at the end of the season and come up with ways to rest their star players not only to avoid injury but to possibly improve draft position.

As a means to try and stop teams from tanking, the NBA changed the NBA Draft rules a few years back, giving the worst three teams in the league the same odds to receive the No. 1 overall pick via the draft lottery, yet many teams around the league still do not seem to care.

This season is no different, as, with just less than two weeks left in the regular season, a handful of teams getting ready for the NBA Draft lottery have “thrown in the towel” for the season and have entered “full tank mode.”
