The era of competing for championships is over in Houston, as the Rockets have entered a full-scale rebuilding process. Currently 17-51, the only thing the Rockets are contending for is the No. 1 overall pick in the 2022 NBA draft, leading them to some possible trades in the offseason. 

Not only will John Wall and Christian Wood be two key talents teams will inquire about in the offseason, but Eric Gordon will definitely hear his name brought up on numerous fronts once again. 

All season long leading up to the trade deadline, the Rockets fielded multiple calls from teams interested in the veteran shooting guard, but Houston was not willing to let him go for the sake of just trading him. 

Given that Eric Gordon has still produced when on the floor, the Houston Rockets are looking for value for the veteran.

Having one more non-guaranteed year on his contract after the 2022-23 season, Eric Gordon will definitely be one of the prime players on the trade market heading into the offseason. 

However, his $19.5 million contract for the 2022-23 season still carries a heavy toll, limiting some teams from being able to pursue him.
