The New York Knicks have produced a disappointing 2021-22 NBA season after managing to earn the fourth seed in the Eastern Conference just a year ago. Among the storylines the team faces entering the offseason is the market for Mitchell Robinson in unrestricted free agency.

According to Stefan Bondy of New York Daily News on the HoopsHype Podcast, two teams that have been linked as potential suitors for Mitchell Robinson in free agency include the Detroit Pistons and Dallas Mavericks.

“Two teams that have been rumored to be linked to him are Detroit and Dallas.”

Robinson is having a solid season with averages of 8.4 points, 8.7 rebounds, and 1.6 blocks in 25.1 minutes per game. He’s a highly efficient play-finisher in the paint while providing a difference-making shot-blocking presence in the paint for a defense.

The Detroit Pistons are expected to make a run at Phoenix Suns’ Deandre Ayton, who will be the top big man available in free agency. However, he is set to be a restricted free agent and despite the Suns’ reluctance to give him a max extension, they may have no choice in doing so to keep him.
