There is no “L” in Sacramento or in Kings, but the Kings have the most “L’s” in the NBA since the 2008-09 season and they currently own the league’s longest active playoff drought at 16 seasons… sorry, it is currently 15, soon to be 16 this season, a common mistake!

The Sacramento Kings woes have been going on for quite some time now, as the team has not put together a winning season since the 2005-06 season and they would have to win all 16 remaining games on their schedule this season to finish even in the year.

Trading for Domantas Sabonis at the trade deadline this season gave Sacramento another high-level, All-Star-level talent to pair with De’Aaron Fox, but they were forced to sacrifice Tyrese Haliburton in the process, making this trade almost even and resulting in the Kings not really gaining anything in the short-term.

Not much can really be said about the Kings this year, as they have set themselves up for end-of-season disappointment yet again.

Heading into the offseason, there are going to be a lot of questions about the Kings not only in regards to who they will hire as their 13th acting head coach since 2006 but questions pertaining to what the roster will look like next year.

De’Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis are the pinnacles of this roster and Harrison Barnes is a solid veteran on the wing, but is there anything the Kings can do in order to build themselves into a playoff team in the Western Conference?

LATEST NBA NEWS & RUMORS: 3 Offseason Moves For Sacramento Kings To Consider

A lot of attention is going to be on this Kings’ roster in the offseason, particularly the status of center Richaun Holmes. After signing a four-year, $46.5 million deal with Sacramento this past offseason, Holmes has averaged career-lows in minutes, points, rebounds, and shot attempts since joining the Kings.

Just one year into his new contract, Richaun Holmes will likely find himself on the trade block this upcoming offseason, especially since the Kings now have Domantas Sabonis as their starting “center”.

Should Holmes hit the trade block, there should be several teams around the league that will show interest in trading for him. Here are three teams who should monitor Richaun Holmes’ status heading into the offseason.
