The 2021-22 NBA season has been one to forget for Lakers fans across the globe and things have not gotten any better in recent weeks. Not only are the Lakers seven games below .500 now, but they have lost back-to-back home games to the Pelicans and Mavericks, two games that they needed to win in order to gain momentum heading towards the playoffs.

With Anthony Davis out with yet another injury, Russell Westbrook’s struggles continuing and LeBron James being 37-years-old and not being able to carry this Lakers team, Los Angeles look doomed for failure heading into the final five weeks of the regular season.

Now just two full games up on the Portland Trail Blazers and the New Orleans Pelicans for the 9-seed in the Western Conference, the Lakers are in big trouble right now, and once picked by many to win the 2022 NBA Finals, this team is in danger of missing the playoffs entirely!

The Lakers’ demise this season has sparked tons of speculation not only about the future of LeBron James but the future of this franchise as well. Los Angeles will likely look to move Russell Westbrook in the offseason and it is not hard to believe that they will float the idea of trading Anthony Davis as well.
