The NBA play-in tournament is set to begin in less than eight weeks and while there is still a lot of basketball yet to be played this season, teams are refreshing at the All-Star break to make their last-ditch playoff pushes.
In the Eastern Conference, just 6.5 games separate the 1-seed from the 8-seed, so there should be plenty of shuffling around in the standings, especially since the play-in tournament region of the Eastern Conference is tight as well.
In the Western Conference, the Suns, Warriors, Grizzlies and Jazz are all basically “locks” for the playoffs right now, but about nine teams are still fighting and in-play for the final six spots in the conference.
The NBA’s play-in tournament allows the 9-seed and 10-seed to have a chance to earn the last two playoff spots in each conference and this season, there are plenty of teams still fighting to just earn a play-in spot.
