The Boston Celtics are a team on the up and up. They played some of their best basketball of the season in January and have put themselves right back in the mix for a spot outside of the NBA Play-In Tournament in the Eastern Conference.
Boston is riding a five-game winning streak with a record of 30-25. They are a half-game behind the Toronto Raptors for sixth place, which would take them out of the Play-In Tournament. Only five games behind the first-place Miami Heat, the Celtics will look to upgrade the roster and make a push the remainder of the season.
There have been plenty of rumors involving players on the team. Josh Richardson and Dennis Schroder have been the players named most prominently. Schroder is on a one-year deal so Boston could look to cash as retaining him in free agency will be difficult. Richardson will only be moved if it results in an upgrade not only for the remainder of this season but next season as well.
One area the Celtics could use some help is 3-point shooting. Adding some shooters ahead of the deadline could help the Celtics with their offensive consistency and take some pressure off of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown.
