These 3 Teams Should Pursue Trade For Myles Turner

Myles Turner, Indiana Pacers

For what has been three seasons now, the Indiana Pacers still need to break up the frontcourt tandem of Domantas Sabonis and Myles Turner to fully lean into an identity as a team. They will have an opportunity to do so at the NBA trade deadline to get a deal done.

It appears as though Domantas Sabonis is unlikely to be on the move given the team holds a high asking price for a two-team NBA All-Star. Given his less-than-stellar fit in a wide variety of team-contexts, the market has less suitors and investing heavily in a center is not something some teams are looking to do.

Myles Turner is a clean fit in a lot of situations around the NBA given he has filled a complementary offensive role throughout his NBA career, but still offers key upside as a play-finisher playing a regular center role on a different team not playing alongside another big man.

With the foot injury that Myles Turner recently suffered, some teams have been deterred from making an aggressive push to get a deal done at the NBA trade deadline.

The injury is indeed not a fracture and instead is a stress reaction—likely keeping Turner out just shortly after the NBA All-Star Break. For teams gearing up for a playoff push, he could help bring that boost even with his injury.

With that being said, let’s dive into some logical potential suitors for Indiana Pacers center Myles Turner as the NBA trade deadline approaches.
