Joel Embiid and the Philadelphia 76ers have really caught fire and have been surging up the NBA standings in recent weeks. Since the Sixers won in Boston on Dec. 20, they have gone 15-4 and are now 30-19 on the season, just 1.5 games back from first-place in the Eastern Conference.
In this same time span, Joel Embiid has averaged 34.0 points, 10.6 rebounds, 4.4 assists and has shot 54.2% from the floor. Since their win over the Celtics in December, Embiid has recorded at least 30 points and at least 10 rebounds in 11 games, putting himself firmly at the top of the MVP conversation this season.
The 76ers have been in the news across the NBA since their early exit to the Atlanta Hawks in the playoffs last season and also because of all the drama surrounding Ben Simmons.
As of right now, Simmons remains a “member” of the 76ers and the front-office would like him to come back and play for the team, but there is a very small chance of this actually happening.

Ben Simmons wants to be traded and no longer wants to be a member of the Philadelphia 76ers. Both sides could have handled this situation differently, but with the trade deadline almost one week away, there has been no advancements on any trades pertaining to the three-time All-Star.
However, if there is one team in this league that is willing to put together a “last-ditch” effort to acquire Ben Simmons this season, it is the Sacramento Kings.
Ever since the offseason, the Kings have been in hot pursuit of Ben Simmons, but the 76ers have been unwilling to budge on their asking price of an All-Star-level player in return for Simmons.

Let’s take a look at a simple trade proposal put together by Bleacher Report’s Grant Hughes that sends Ben Simmons to Sacramento and De’Aaron Fox to Philadelphia.
