3 Shooters For Phoenix Suns To Target At Trade Deadline

Phoenix Suns, NBA Trade Rumors
NBA Analysis Network

The success the Phoenix Suns have had since the NBA Bubble in 2020 really is quite remarkable and both head coach Monty Williams and GM James Jones deserve a lot of credit for how they have turned around things in Phoenix.

Currently an NBA-best 38-9 on the year, the Suns have shown no signs of slowing down, even with guys constantly in and out of the rotation due to injuries! Devin Booker has missed 7 games this year, Jae Crowder has missed 8 games and Deandre Ayton has missed 19 games, but this has not mattered given all the depth Phoenix has.

The additions of JaVale McGee, Landry Shamet, Elfrid Payton and Bismack Biyombo have given the Suns everything they were missing in the NBA Finals last season, making them legit contenders for a title once again.

The Suns are undoubtedly going to be in the playoffs this season and they will most likely finish the year with the best record in the league. They do not need to make any moves at the trade deadline, but they could be inclined to add some more shooting.

NBA insider Marc Stein wrote recently that while the team did add Landry Shamet in the offseason, the Suns could show interest in adding another perimeter shooter since their bench is only shooting 34.7% from deep on the season, 11th best in the league.

Not having any trade exceptions and sitting $7.3M under the luxury tax threshold this season, Phoenix does not have many trade options heading towards the deadline. However, the contract of Dario Saric could be a means to the Suns adding what they need to possibly win a title.

Saric suffered a torn ACL in the NBA Finals last season and his status to return to the court this season is in question.

With the Suns signing JaVale McGee in the offseason and getting a ton of production from Bismack Biyombo as well, now is the time for Phoenix to try and get themselves out of the remaining $17.7M on Dario Saric’s contract.

Could the Suns flip Dario Saric for another perimeter scorer? Here are three shooters that the Suns could pursue ahead of the trade deadline.
