The Brooklyn Nets are searching high and low to upgrade its roster ahead of the 2022 NBA trade deadline. The team has their core locked in with their Big 3 of Kevin Durant, James Harden and Kyrie Irving.
However, with Irving still being a part-time player and Durant currently sidelined for a few weeks because of an MCL sprain, the roster could use a few tweaks. Unfortunately for Brooklyn, they do not possess many assets to make a big splash.
They have already said they will not engage in trade talks centered around Harden before the deadline, which would certainly shake things up in a big way. They were previously open to discussing Irving in trade scenarios, but there wasn’t much of a market for him, which isn’t too surprising.
Joe Harris is another player whose name has popped up a few times, but it would be hard to imagine the Nets parting ways with the only true wing player that they have. As a result, they will be looking to upgrade on the fringes.

One player they are actively looking to find a new home for is Paul Millsap. Millsap wants to land with a team that he could have a bigger role on, as he has appeared in only 24 games with the Nets, averaging 11.3 minutes per contest.
Contending teams could get in on the bidding for Millsap. While he hasn’t had many chances with the Nets, he is still a capable defender in the frontcourt that can knock down an occasional 3-pointer. He also brings a ton of quality postseason experience with him.
Two teams to watch for when it comes to Millsap trade talks, according to Bleacher Report, are the Golden State Warriors and Chicago Bulls.
Brooklyn is working to find a new home for Paul Millsap that would provide the veteran with more playing time and supply the Nets with some type of return. Before agreeing to terms with the Nets this offseason, Millsap had significant conversations with both Golden State and Chicago
The Golden State Warriors could certainly use Millsap’s skill set in their frontcourt. He could play some minutes at the center spot, providing a different element with his 3-point shooting that none of their other bigs provides.

The Chicago Bulls are in desperate need of some depth in the frontcourt. They lost starting power forward Patrick Williams early in the season to a wrist injury that is likely to keep him sidelined for the duration of the regular season. Millsap could slot in as a combo player off the bench, providing minutes at power forward and center.
It would be hard to imagine the Brooklyn Nets getting a significant return for Millsap. They have also engaged in trade talks centered around Jevon Carter, Bruce Brown and Nic Claxton. Of that group, Claxton would bring the most significant return.
