This Magic-Clippers Trade Involves Terrence Ross To L.A.

The LA Clippers finally broke through last season in the NBA playoffs and made their first ever appearance in the Western Conference Finals, but making it back-to-back years in the Western Conference Finals seems like wishful thinking at this point.

Without Kawhi Leonard and Paul George, it would take an absolute miracle for the Clippers to make a deep run in the postseason, that is if they even make the playoffs at this point!

The 24-25 Clippers have definitely been a resilient team this season and have shown a lot of fight in mostly every game they have played, but it is hard to win games in this league anymore without your best players.

In the playoffs last season, Kawhi Leonard suffered a torn ACL in his right knee and Paul George suffered a torn ulnar collateral ligament (UCL) in his right elbow in December. The status of both the Clippers’ All-Stars remains up-in-the-air this season and it remains a possibility that neither of them will return this season.

With George possibly getting ready to have season-ending surgery on his elbow, the Clippers could very well opt to be “sellers” at the trade deadline in order to acquire more future assets, but the Clippers have shown a willingness to go out and add depth/talent at the trade deadline before.

Being a strong defensive team right now, Los Angeles’ main problem is on the offensive-end of the floor and finding consistent scoring weapons on their roster. Given their cap situation, the Clippers cannot make many moves, but Magic wing Terrence Ross is an interesting name that has been brought up in trade rumors recently.

Now in his sixth season with the Magic, 10th season overall, Ross has cemented himself as one of the better bench scorers in the league. Just a season ago, the veteran averaged 15.6 points per game and ranked 10th in the league in bench points even though he played in just 46 games!

Due to lack of playing time and his role in Orlando changing this season, Terrence Ross’ numbers have declined slightly, but he is still an impactful secondary scorer in this league.
