The NBA trade deadline is two weeks away and Pistons’ forward Jerami Grant continues to be one of the most sought after players on the trade market.
In his second season with Detroit, Grant has continued to stand out as one of the better two-way forwards in the league and has been one of the league’s breakout stars dating back to the start of last season.
After signing a three-year, $60M deal with the Pistons ahead of the 2020-21 season, Grant averaged 22.3 points, 4.6 rebounds and shot 42.9% from the floor last year. While he has only played in 24 games this season due to a thumb injury, Grant has continued to be a primary scoring weapon, averaging 20.1 points and shooting 41.4% from the floor.
On December 16, Jerami Grant underwent a successful surgical procedure to repair the UCL ligament on his right thumb and the Pistons said that he would be re-evaluated in six weeks. Since then, Grant has resumed working out with the team and has jumped between the Pistons and their G-League affiliate to try and get back to full-speed.

Grant is expected to be 100% in the coming weeks and there should not be any limitations to his game after the surgical procedure done on his right thumb.
According to Shams Charania, the Washington Wizards, New York Knicks, Portland Trail Blazers and Los Angeles Lakers are among the teams interested in Jerami Grant this season, but recent reports suggest the Sacramento Kings are highly interested in him.
Bleacher Report’s Jake Fischer states that both the Atlanta Hawks and Sacramento Kings have emerged as strong suitors for the Pistons’ forward.
Not making the playoffs since 2006, the Sacramento Kings have been a franchise in turmoil for quite some time. De’Aaron Fox and Tyrese Haliburton are two key guards on this roster, but the rest of the Kings’ roster needs some major fixing and Grant would be a really strong addition for them.
