Philadelphia 76ers Receive: G/F Buddy Hield, F Harrison Barnes, G Tyrese Haliburton
Sacramento Kings Receive: G/F Ben Simmons, F Georges Niang, F Paul Reed
Trying to figure out whether or not the 76ers will actually trade Ben Simmons or not is like trying to decide whether or not to bet “red” or “black” at the roulette wheel. If there is a deal to be had for Simmons at the deadline this season, it will most likely involve the Sacramento Kings because they have made their entire roster available in trade talks.
De’Aaron Fox is the Kings’ best talent, but the 76ers have been said to not be interested in the young point guard. Does that mean that they could be interested in a package surrounding Tyrese Haliburton, Buddy Hield and Harrison Barnes instead?
All three guys are impactful players and each player brings something different to the table for Philadelphia, a team that desperately needs more scoring depth.
Not only can Haliburton be a great complimentary guard next to Seth Curry and Tyrese Maxey, but he has been one of the best facilitators in the NBA since the new year. In 8 games so far in January, Tyrese Haliburton has averaged 8.5 assists per game, the 8th most in the league since the start of January.

As for Harrison Barnes and Buddy Hield, each of them bring more scoring on the wing to Philly. Tobias Harris is a really solid complimentary forward for the 76ers, but they do not seem to be too invested in him as being their No. 2 guy.
Maybe the 76ers will look to move Harris, but should they hold onto him through this trade with the Kings, they would be adding one of the best three-point shooting threats in the league and an impactful two-way forward in Harrison Barnes that is a proven champion with the Golden State Warriors back in the day.
As for the Kings, they have missed the playoffs for 15 consecutive seasons and are trying to find ways to better themselves moving forward. The additions of Georges Niang and Paul Reed do not really do anything for this team, but pairing De’Aaron Fox with Ben Simmons could create one of the better two-man games in the league.

Becoming more of a pick-and-roll threat rather than a primary ball-handler, Simmons could really thrive next to a skilled point guard like De’Aaron Fox.
With Ben Simmons being one of the league’s best defenders, the Kings would suddenly have two All-Star quality players to build around and they would have the cap space to do so.
