The Indiana Pacers were real playoff threats in the Eastern Conference not too long ago, but this NBA season, they are just 16-29 and not only on the verge of missing the playoffs in back-to-back seasons, but they could very well look to rebuild at the trade deadline.

In December, The Athletic’s Shams Charania reported that the Pacers are heading towards a rebuilding and are being receptive to trade offers for basically everyone on their roster, including the likes of Myles Turner, Caris LeVert and All-Star Domantas Sabonis.

Since then, Pacers owner Herb Simon spoke out against these claims, saying that the organization does not want to “rebuild” necessarily but simply “re-tool” their roster.

It is unlikely that Domantas Sabonis will be on the move given the high value the team has put on him, but Caris LeVert and specifically Myles Turner remain key trade assets ahead of the deadline.

It seems like every single season Turner is hearing his name come up in trade rumors, but this season they actually hold some weight with the Pacers struggling and him having one more year left on his contract.

Now in his 7th NBA season with the Pacers, Myles Turner has led the league in blocked shots two of the last three seasons and is once again leading the league in blocked shots this season at 2.8 blocks per game.

However, Turner is expected to miss some time after suffering what the team is calling a “stress reaction” in his left foot. ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported that the Indiana Pacers big man is expected to be sidelined well past the trade deadline (Feb. 10).

This injury to Turner’s foot will definitely wind up playing a role in whether or not he will be traded this season and while several other teams have been mentioned as potential suitors, the Golden State Warriors have inquired about the defensive big man in the past.

Golden State is currently 32-13 on the season and with them looking like championship contenders once again, now could be the time that they look to go “all-in” at the deadline on making another trip to the NBA Finals.
