This Cavs-Kings Trade Is Centered Around Buddy Hield

Buddy Hield, Cleveland Cavaliers, NBA Trade Rumors

Without LeBron James, the Cleveland Cavaliers have not been that successful of a franchise, but they are starting to change that narrative this NBA season. Over halfway through the 2021-22 NBA season, the Cavaliers find themselves 27-19 and not only as the current sixth seed in the Eastern Conference, but they are just 2.5 games back from first place in the conference!

The job head coach J.B. Bickerstaff and the entire Cavaliers’ developmental staff have done with this young roster is quite impressive, but it is really impressive how determined and how focused this group is.

Darius Garland, Jarrett Allen, Evan Mobley, and Lauri Markkanen are all 24-years-old or younger and while many young players in this league would give up when their leaders in Collin Sexton and Ricky Rubio going down with season-ending knee injuries, these guys have all stepped up and then some.

The Cleveland Cavaliers find themselves as a sneaky good team in the NBA this season, but they will need to be willing to make some moves ahead of the trade deadline this season if they are to continue the success they have been having on the floor.

The losses of Sexton and Rubio have definitely put a dent in what this team can achieve offensively, which is why looking for ways to improve on that end of the floor is essential.

Pacers’ Caris LeVert and Magic’s Terrence Ross remain possible options for the Cavaliers to pursue on the wing at the trade deadline, but Buddy Hield is a very intriguing name to keep watch on.

While they have missed the playoffs for 15 consecutive seasons and are looking for ways to make the playoffs themselves, the Kings seem to be open to making moves this season and Buddy Hield is a player that was almost dealt in the offseason.

After the Kings deal with the Lakers revolving around Hield fell apart after Los Angeles acquired Russell Westbrook, Buddy Hield still remains available and on a contract that the Kings are willing to move on from.

Ranking second in the league in points scored off-the-bench this season and in made three-pointers, Buddy Hield has continued to prove his worth on the wing. One key way for the Cavaliers to improve offensively this season is by adding three-point shooting, hence why Hield could be in play for them at the trade deadline.
