Would this trade make sense for the Golden State Warriors?
As for the Golden State Warriors, there are limited reasons why a trade like this would make sense for them. Pascal Siakam could come in and play small-ball center for them. He brings a lot more versatility to their roster, too.
He’s, overall, a better player than Andrew Wiggins right now, and in terms of playing small-ball center, would fill a need to some degree. But sometimes, it’s not all about who the better player is. It’s about who the better fit is.
There’s no question that Wiggins is the better fit for this Warriors team. He has a real case to be an All-Star this season and has been incredible from behind the three-point line. That’s exactly how the Warriors need him to play, too.
Add in the fact that he’s (arguably) their best perimeter defender this year, and it’s hard to consider trading him, regardless of what the Warriors would be getting back. Sure, he makes a lot of money, but this season, that money has been very worth it.
LATEST NBA NEWS & TRADE RUMORS: How Warriors Could Trade For Raptors Star Pascal Siakam
Again, this trade is very unrealistic for both sides, but there are some arguments for why it would make sense. In the end, though, Siakam is too important to the Raptors and Wiggins is too important to the Warriors. It’s always fun to think of ideas, though.
