Would this trade make sense for the Toronto Raptors?
For the Toronto Raptors, this wouldn’t actually be a terrible trade. Andrew Wiggins is playing great this year, and he’d actually fit in pretty well within their offense. He’s an elite three-point shooter at this point, and the Raptors could use someone like that.
Plus, they’d be able to take a chance on Moses Moody. Although he hasn’t really panned out with the Warriors, he hasn’t gotten the chance to thrive. In Toronto, they could give him some of those minutes that the Warriors haven’t been able to give him.
All that being said, the Raptors would never really make this trade, and rightfully so. Pascal Siakam has been amazing for them, and he’s still only 27 years old. Sure the trade would help them get a bit younger, but it’d only be by one year, and Siakam is a lot more versatile than Wiggins.
He’s averaging the most assists of his career and the most rebounds. This is easily one of the best years he’s had in the league, so to trade him just for the sake of getting a little bit younger doesn’t make a ton of sense (even though they’d get a former lottery pick).

So, while this deal is fun, and trades are entertaining to think about, the Raptors would almost never consider this sort of package. Siakam is clearly extremely valuable to them, and that makes total sense. He’ll be in Toronto for a long while.
