Would this trade make sense for the Sacramento Kings?
For the Sacramento Kings, this would see them restart their rebuild all over again to some degree. While that may anger some fans, it could be the harsh reality that they are forced to face, because right now, the core of players they have isn’t getting the job done.
This deal would see them add three solid young players, as well as a plethora of draft picks. If the New York Knicks continue to struggle after making this trade, then those picks could be a lot more valuable than anticipated, which would be huge for the Kings.
Outside of that, Obi Toppin is a guy who could thrive if given more opportunities. Playing under Tom Thibodeau for two years definitely hasn’t given him a ton of freedom to make mistakes, and the same can be said for both Immanuel Quicklet and Quentin Grimes.
Those three guys would get to play alongside Tyrese Haliburton and Davion Mitchell, with most of Sactown’s other veterans likely to be moved in other deals. That would create a young, raw core of players growing and building together.

Add in all those draft picks over the years, and the Kings might just be onto something. Haliburton has shown the potential to be a franchise point guard, and if the Kings spend the next few years surrounding him with elite young talent, it could lead to great things.
