Would this trade make sense for the Philadelphia 76ers?
For the Philadelphia 76ers, this trade should be a no-brainer. Damian Lillard is one of the names that has always come up in Ben Simmons trade rumors. He fits the bill of what Daryl Morey wants to trade for to a tee, and they would be silly not to take this deal.
Lillard is the premier perimeter threat and shot creator that the 76ers would love to put next to Joel Embiid. His three-point shooting, clutch shot-making, and even his underrated playmaking all make him the ideal candidate to trade for.
The potential starting lineup of Lillard, Seth Curry, Danny Green, Tobias Harris, and Embiid would be one of the best in the business. The Sixers would have (arguably) the best post player in the NBA playing alongside one of the best outside scorers in the NBA.
Lillard would be the best player Embiid has ever played with, and Embiid would be the best player Lillard has ever played with. Neither would have to worry about being “the guy” every night because both of them are fully capable of doing that.

Nabbing Lillard would make the 76ers a perennial title contender and easily one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference. The draft picks they’d be giving up shouldn’t mean anything to them. This is one of the best possible solutions to the Simmons situation.
