Does this trade make sense for the Indiana Pacers?
Swapping Domantas Sabonis and getting out of Jeremy Lamb’s contract for Jaylen Brown would be a huge win for the Indiana Pacers as they search for ways to “re-tool” instead of “rebuild” this season.
Domantas Sabonis is “available” in trade talks this season, but this sentence should be read very loosely because the Pacers have no intentions of trading their All-Star big man. They value him very highly and unless there is a deal that blows them away, like this one for Brown, they are not going to be trading him.
At the deadline, Indiana is going to be active, but they will be looking to move guys like Myles Turner and Caris LeVert before they entertain the idea of trading Sabonis.
Building around Sabonis and Brogdon moving forward seems to be what the Pacers are looking to do, however, that should not stop them from at least trying to acquire Jaylen Brown.

He is one of the best two-way wings in the league right now and being just 25-years-old, the Pacers could build with and around Jaylen Brown for the foreseeable future. This trade with the Celtics is definitely worthwhile, but Boston is not going to be willing to move Brown this season.
