Boston Celtics Receive: F Domantas Sabonis, G/F Jeremy Lamb, IND 2023 1st Round Pick (Swap, More Favorable to BOS)
Indiana Pacers Receive: G/F Jaylen Brown, G Dennis Schroder

Seeing their playoff hopes quickly fade away with them being in 13th place, the Indiana Pacers need to make a big move more than the Celtics need to. Trading Myles Turner and Caris LeVert can return a handful of assets, but none that will help the Pacers win right now.

Maybe moving Domantas Sabonis will not help them right away either seeing as Malcolm Brogdon has been dealing with Achilles soreness for over a month now, resulting in him being in and out of the rotations, but Jaylen Brown is certainly someone the Pacers would be interested in.

We should make it clear that there have been no ongoing trade discussions pertaining to this deal between the two teams, but Jaylen Brown’s name has come up in trade rumors recently and he could be the key to the Celtics finding ways to add more high-level talent.

Now in his 6th NBA season, Brown was a first-time All-Star last season and could very well be on his way to his second All-Star appearance this season.

In 31 games, Jaylen Brown has averaged 24.2 points, 6.5 rebounds, 1.1 steals and has shot 45.9% from the floor, 36.9% from three-point range, once again making him one of the better two-way wings in the entire NBA.

The Celtics have not shown interest in moving on from Jaylen Brown at this time, but in order to add one of the best rebounding and low-post scoring talents in the league in Domantas Sabonis, he could very well be the asking price from Indiana.

As for Dennis Schroder, the Celtics signed him this past offseason to a one-year, $5.9M deal with the intention of trading him for value at the trade deadline.

Schroder has played well in his bench role and “sixth-man” role with Boston this season, but the Celtics are not going to keep him past this season and the team has made him available in trade talks in recent weeks.

What this trade basically comes down to is a swap of All-Stars between the Celtics and Pacers, a move that could wind up benefiting both teams based on the talent they currently have on their rosters.
