The Boston Celtics have always seemed to be a playoff force in the Eastern Conference, but this NBA season, everyone not named Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum has been struggling for this team. Brown and Tatum are two of the young, bright stars of the league, but they alone cannot carry the Celtics in a loaded Eastern Conference.
Currently 23-22 on the season, Boston is only 5.5 games back from being in first place in the East, but there is a wide gap between them and the top of the league. Marcus Smart, Dennis Schroder, Josh Richardson, and Al Horford are all key secondary talents on this roster this season, however, the Celtics have struggled to find consistency up and down their roster.
Ranking 28th in bench scoring and ranking just 19th in the league offensively, the Celtics really need to try and make some big moves ahead of the trade deadline if they are to remain a relevant playoff threat.

After moving Juan Hernangomez in a three-team trade on Tuesday night, a trade in which the Celtics acquired both P.J. Dozier and Bol Bol from the Denver Nuggets, the Celtics’ front-office seem to be preparing themselves for a big move.
As a result of this trade, Boston created a new $6.1M TPE as a result of using their current $5M TPE to absorb the contracts of Bol and Dozier and they also acquired some more assets to utilize at the trade deadline.
Now having a $17.1M TPE, a $9.7M TPE, and a $6.1M TPE, the options for who the Celtics could add are endless, but Pacers’ All-Star Domantas Sabonis is a big name to have come up in trade rumors in Boston recently.
