Does this trade make sense for the Sacramento Kings?

As much as they need to be able to end their playoff drought, it is hard to imagine that the Kings have what it takes to make the playoffs this season. De’Aaron Fox and Tyrese Haliburton are great players in the backcourt for Sacramento, but who else does this team really have?

Richaun Holmes has not been the same impactful frontcourt player this season as he was a season ago, Marvin Bagley III is likely on his way out and Buddy Hield’s future is also in question.

Maybe the Kings will go “all-in” on their pursuit of Ben Simmons ahead of the deadline, but still, it is hard to imagine that he would make them an instant playoff team. Sacramento has many problems right now and building for the future should be their main goal.

Reggie Bullock would not help them much, but he is a proven perimeter threat that could not only replace Harrison Barnes on the wing, but potentially Buddy Hield as well should the team look to trade Hield this season.

Josh Green would be a young talent the Kings can utilize on the wing and who knows what they could potentially do with another first-round pick. Maybe this pick could be used to acquire another high-level talent to pair with Fox.

Cutting Harrison Barnes’ salary right now and replacing him with some future value is a move that definitely makes sense for the Kings, especially since they are not going to want to tie themselves down long-term to Barnes.
