This Lakers-Wizards Trade Is Centered Around Anthony Davis

Anthony Davis, Los Angeles Lakers, Washington Wizards, NBA Trade Rumors
NBA Analysis Network

Before the 2021-22 NBA season began, many projected the Los Angeles Lakers to be one of, if not the best team in the Western Conference. Their big three of LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and Russell Westbrook was supposed to carry them there.

Unfortunately, that hasn’t quite panned out the way they would have liked. Instead of fighting for the number one seed in the West, the Lakers are fighting to stay in the play-in race. Needless to say, that’s not exactly where they wanted to be.

And while they may want to trade Russell Westbrook, there isn’t exactly much value to be had when trading an aging point guard that struggles with turnovers and also makes over $40 million. They would probably have to give up assets just to get rid of Westbrook’s contract.

On the other side of the country, the Washington Wizards have fallen off a cliff. They started off the season red hot and have since gone 9-16.
