The 2021-22 NBA season was supposed to be one in which the Los Angeles Lakers dominated the Western Conference with all of their former and current All-Star talents, but that has not been the case for L.A.

Currently 22-22 on the season, the Lakers have really struggled to find consistency amongst their lineups and they really do not have any key contributors outside of LeBron James. The “Russell Westbrook experiment” has not worked out for Los Angeles and with Anthony Davis being out due to a sprained left MCL, the Lakers are left scrambling for answers ahead of the trade deadline.

We keep saying that LeBron James and the Lakers will figure things out, but when will this be exactly because now over 50% of the way through the season, this team still has no chemistry and they look lost at times.

Los Angeles really struggled on the offensive-end of the floor outside of LeBron and with them not being a threat defensively either, the Lakers really have their work cut out for them if they are to be a real threat in the Western Conference.

When Anthony Davis returns, a lot of the pressure will be taken off of LeBron James to carry this team, but perimeter shooting is still a main concern for this organization.

As a team, the Lakers are shooting 35% from deep and they could really use some more perimeter shooters next to James and Westbrook on the perimeter.

Not having much cap space, nor assets to trade, the Lakers are limited on potential trades they can make, which is why someone like Bryn Forbes from San Antonio could be appealing to them.

After winning a championship with the Milwaukee Bucks last season, the sharpshooting Forbes decided to return to the Spurs on a one-year, $4.5M deal. Now in his 6th NBA season, Bryn Forbes has shot 41.3% from three-point range of his career and could be an immediate “jolt” of energy offensively for the Lakers to utilize off-the-bench.

Will San Antonio be willing to give up Forbes in a trade with the Lakers? Let’s see what Los Angeles could offer up.
