Eric Gordon – Houston Rockets
Eric Gordon is a veteran player that has seemed to be on the trade block since the offseason, but his contract is a very tough one to navigate, hence why he remains on a rebuilding Rockets team.
Now 33-years-old, Gordon is set to make $58.7M through the 2023-24 season, with the final year of his contract being non-guaranteed.
His contract is the main reason why no team has been willing to pull-the-trigger on a deal for him yet, but the Dallas Mavericks should surely have a level of interest in the veteran.
Defensively, the Mavericks rank 6th in the NBA, but they rank just 20th in the league in offensive rating because of the fact that they have no reliable perimeter players.

Shooting 33.2% from deep as a team this season, the Mavs desperately need another three-point shooting threat, which is why Eric Gordon could make sense for them.
By trading away Finney-Smith and Dwight Powell, the Mavericks could bring in Eric Gordon, who is currently averaging 14.8 points, 3.4 assists and shooting 45.2% from three-point range (third-best in the league).
Being a key scoring talent off-the-bench, Eric Gordon would be a terrific complimentary player on the wing next to Tim Hardaway Jr. and could be another playmaker the Mavericks could utilize next to Luka Doncic.
With the Rockets this season, Gordon has proven to be a very valuable scorer and while he is nearing the end of his career, he still seems to have plenty left in the tank to be a factor on a playoff contending team.

Giving up a key two-way player in Dorian Finney-Smith for Eric Gordon may be a little bit too much value for the Dallas Mavericks to sacrifice on the defensive-end of the floor given how well Finney-Smith has played this season, but Gordon certainty brings value to this team on offense.
