The San Antonio Spurs are in a very weird spot as an organization. They don’t have the talent to compete for a playoff spot in the Western Conference. However, they still have one of the greatest NBA head coaches to ever coach leading the way – Gregg Popovich.

While Popovich would never pressure the organization to put together a contending team, there are avenues for them to do so. They have an All-Star-caliber talent in Dejounte Murray, as well as some solid young players they could trade.

It’s highly unlikely that the Spurs make any big moves at the NBA trade deadline. That’s just not really their style. However, what if they changed their style this year?

What if they decided to put a more competent team together to give Popovich something to work with.
