Would this trade make sense for the Indiana Pacers?
For the Indiana Pacers, this trade would see them reset the franchise a bit and take a chance on two raw prospects, while also getting two firsts. They’d be giving up Myles Turner, who reportedly is already available on the trade market, anyways.
Precious Achiuwa hasn’t been very efficient this season, but his potential as a raw prospect is super intriguing. He’s shown the ability to handle the ball and get into the paint a bit. If given the time to develop and work out his shooting issues, Achuiwa could turn into a solid piece.
As mentioned earlier, Malachi Flynn has been struggling to get minutes this year in the Raptors’ wing-heavy game plan. However, with the potential he showed his rookie year, it could be worth it for the Pacers to take a chance on him.
Meanwhile, Gordon Dragic has only appeared in five games for the Raptors this season. He is currently away from the team due to personal reasons, and isn’t expected to be back anytime soon. However, he would need to be included in this deal for salary-matching purposes.
