Does this trade make sense for the Indiana Pacers?

Trading away Caris LeVert for value right now since he only has one more year left on his contract after this season makes sense, but it is hard to imagine that the Indiana Pacers see a ton of value in what the Knicks have to offer.

In the short-term, Kemba Walker could aid this team’s backcourt, but they are not in a position to contend for a playoff spot this season and Obi Toppin would be a work-in-progress for them in the frontcourt.

On the other side of things though, the Pacers do need to make a significant change to their roster to add future value. Seeing as they are not a playoff-caliber team anymore, they should be willing to give up guys like Caris LeVert and Myles Turner.

Caris LeVert is a great player, but his market value is a little lower than expected because of the limited interest in him. Maybe more teams will show interest ahead of the trade deadline in the coming weeks, but this may be one of three deals on the table for the Pacers involving LeVert.

If this is the case, just trading him and getting any value they can could be the best move to make, especially since the Pacers would be receiving a first-round pick from the Knicks.
