The point guard position has been a thorn in the side of the New York Knicks for years. They looked to have shored it up this season with Derrick Rose and Kemba Walker, but both have missed time, mostly because of injury but also because of a coach’s decision.
Many fans are hopeful that the team can land a superstar of Damian Lillard’s caliber. But, given Lillard’s abdominal injury that he is dealing with, he is not a realistic option. But, De’Aaron Fox of the Sacramento Kings could be someone the Knicks pursue.
Sacramento is desperate to make the postseason and no one is off-limits for the front office when it comes to achieving that goal. But, if they come to the harsh reality that a playoff spot isn’t attainable, they could become sellers, at which point the Knicks can pounce.
In this deal, the Knicks would provide Sacramento with some players that will help them remain competitive now. Alec Burks is having an excellent season and Nerlens Noel is a great defender when healthy.

Walker can be a good influence for the young backcourt and provide some scoring punch in the starting lineup or off the bench. Sacramento gets an extended look at Kevin Knox II, who is still only 22-years old.
Obi Toppin is the crown jewel for the Kings, who have a hole at the power forward spot. Toppin could fill that, as he is looking to spread his wings. Unfortunately, as long Julius Randle is entrenched as the starting power forward, it won’t happen with New York.
