New York Knicks Leverage Youth For “Win-Now” Talent
New York Knicks Receive: F Jerami Grant
Detroit Pistons Receive: C Nerlens Noel, F Obi Toppin, G Quentin Grimes, NYK 2022 2nd Round Pick, NYK 2024 2nd Round Pick
The New York Knicks were the 4-seed in the Eastern Conference last season, but they are going to be lucky to make the playoffs at the rate they are on this season!
Currently 19-21, the Knicks are in 11th in the Eastern Conference standings right now and are going to need to figure out a way to not only get better defensively, but offensively as well.
Jerami Grant is great on both ends of the floor and addresses an immediate void the Knicks currently have on the wing. R.J. Barrett and Evan Fournier have been decent, but neither player has really been great.
The addition of Grant gives the Knicks another forward to play through next to Julius Randle, as well as an established scorer that can elevate this team’s offense tremendously.

Ranking 27th in the league in scoring and in field goal percentage, the New York Knicks can fix a lot of the problems they have by adding another elite-level scorer. Julius Randle cannot do everything for this team and that is starting to show big-time this season.
The Knicks have the ability to open up cap space and they have quite a few young talents that would be of interest to the Pistons.

Quentin Grimes and Obi Toppin are both young talents that were drafted in the first-round by the Knicks that could play immediate minutes in Detroit. They are both young prospects with two-way potential and with the Pistons rebuilding, there is no better place for either player to get experience in this league.
As for Nerlens Noel, he addresses a problem the Pistons currently have in their frontcourt and is a proven shot-blocker that can aid Isaiah Stewart’s development as a possible rim-protector moving forward.
Moving Jerami Grant to the New York Knicks offers Detroit a ton of future value, too much for them to want to pass up on.
