New York Knicks Continue To Find Ways To Better Themselves Defensively

New York Knicks Receive: C Myles Turner, F Torrey Craig
Indiana Pacers Receive: C Nerlens Noel, F Obi Toppin, F Kevin Knox II, NYK 2022 1st Round Pick (Unprotected), NYK 2023 1st Round Pick (swap, More Favorable to IND)

The New York Knicks are another team that has been rumored to show interest in Myles Turner and the fit definitely makes sense. Last season, the Knicks claimed the 4-seed in the Eastern Conference because of how good they were defensively.

They have seemed to lose their touch on defense this season and their frontcourt has been a mess.

Nerlens Noel has missed games, Mitchell Robinson has missed games and while Noel is under contract long-term, Robinson is in the final year of his rookie contract.

Locking down the center position moving forward is going to be extremely important for the New York Knicks, which is why going out and just trading for Myles Turner could solve a lot of the problems they have as an organization.

The Knicks would still need to try and find some more offensive talent to take pressure off of Julius Randle and R.J. Barrett, but adding Turner to be an anchor defensively is definitely a move that makes sense.

The best part about striking a deal with the New York Knicks for Myles Turner is that the Pacers would have a lot of options to choose from in terms of future assets.

Not only could Immanuel Quickley and Obi Toppin be intriguing options for the Pacers, but rookies Quentim Grimes, Jericho Sims and Miles McBride are also names they could show interest in from New York.

In this deal, Kevin Knox is nothing more than a salary-filler, but maybe he could finally do something with a new team. Obi Toppin is a young frontcourt piece the Pacers could build with moving forward next to Sabonis in the frontcourt and Nerlens Noel could be a shot-blocker to replace Turner.

Along with having various draft picks to offer up, the New York Knicks should have everything the Indiana Pacers are looking for in a trade involving Myles Turner.
