Would this trade make sense for the Sacramento Kings?
For the Sacramento Kings, this gives them the chance to snag a former All-Star. Kristaps Porzingis could come in and start at power forward, playing alongside a young backcourt and veteran frontcourt. He would definitely help raise the ceiling of this Kins squad.
Porzingis clearly prefers to play around the perimeter at this point. With Richaun Holmes manning the paint and De’Aaron Fox’s great driving ability, he would have some freedom to do just that. Plus, at this point, the Kings should just be looking to acquire as much talent as possible.
With Porzingis in the rotation, their starting lineup would likely look like this – Fox, Tyrese Haliburton, Harrison Barnes, Porzingis, and Holmes. Losing Buddy Hield definitely hurts the team’s spacing, but from a star power perspective, that lineup looks improved.
It’s clear that something isn’t working in Sactown. Change is needed in a big way if they want to be a competitive team in the Western Conference anytime soon. Hield has expressed the desire to leave in the past, so this just makes sense.
